Happy 2012! I didn’t do anything really exciting last night. Felt a little sick, so stayed home and watched some movies. Did a little writing. Was trying to stay up for something, but ended up crashing around 2:30. On the plus side, what I added to the WIP isn’t bad and will probably stay in, so that’s a good thing. Taking two workshops this month, one started today, I think the other tomorrow. One’s on editing, the other something else. Interesting to see how it matches up to a side project idea I’ve been thinking about the last while.Read More →

the workshops this month. One has been extended into November by a week so that gives me a little more breathing room but four of them are wrapping up this week, and three of those I just happen to be a bit behind in. Need to put in a few hours tonight and try to catch up on at least two of them. In the website workshop, we were working on headers. I can’t find an image I like for mine so I’m leaving it with the default moon image right now till something clicks. Maybe I can do something when I get my coverRead More →

Managed to get caught up in 2 of my workshops yesterday/today. Did the writing assignments and posted. One we had to strip down our writing down to a ‘bad writing’ level, just bare bones. That was a way more painful assignment then I’d ever imagined. Between choosing a scene that would work and then stripping it down, a three page scene went down to about one and a half. I saw a few places in the ‘original’ where I can go back in and add some layers, so made note of that then posted both pieces. Looking forward to seeing what she says. The otherRead More →

Feeling a little stressed right now. Was already behind in my workshops this month because of the whole hard drive install issue and now had some more things dropped in my lap. Today has literally been filled with head hitting the desk moments. There is so much to do it’s overwhelming and not having a 100% working computer isn’t helping that much. I think I’ll make a to-do list and try to go through it one at a time. Maybe then I won’t be so overwhelmed. It’s definitely worth a try, right? On the good side, I did get a handful of things accomplished thisRead More →

October is going to be really, really busy. Maybe I should have planned better. 🙂 Not only did I sign up for a few workshops that started yesterday and today, but there’s at least three more I want to take that start within the next two weeks. One on websites, that means I need to finally get a domain name which equals deciding pen name or no pen name (so debating back and forth on that one) along with homework in the others already. Plus there’s new products I need to put through on zazzle, almost two dozen of mom’s latest sketches to scan andRead More →

Seriously. I think I’d like to turn back time and get some of it back since mine wasn’t the best summer I’ve ever had. Following the concert last month I spent the rest of the month battling a *delightful* round of nausea the likes of which I hope never to see again. :o) That and ginger ale, since I pretty well lived off of it for two weeks straight. Can’t believe it’s September, even though a few of the leaves are already turning and falling. Never like seeing that. Taking one workshop this month and it starts Monday and runs for a month I think.Read More →

I’ve been busy cleaning up the office area, organizing all my print outs from the parapsych course and finding a bunch of old workshop notes to go through as well. Some I’ve even forgotten I’ve taken. Which lead me to thinking about recommendations. A few workshops I’ve taken lately turned out to be duds for lack of a better word. One or two were more beginner oriented than the blurb led me to believe, but a couple others were just plain bad. If you’ve taken a really great workshop, let me know in the comments. Two that I fully recommend and changed my writing: 1.Read More →

And they’re back. Same spot at the back going forward. Dad said it’s like a mohawk when I showed him where the pain starts and goes. Funny huh? Maybe not so much. So hopefully they’ll subside and stay away. On the workshop front, some of the ones from last month have wrapped. I have to give 5*s to: Plotting Via Motivation which truly changed the way I think about plotting. One of the others was an extreme dud and makes me wish I hadn’t spent the money on it because it literally was that bad. Perhaps that one was the cause of my first roundRead More →
