Sexy athletic body

Hi everyone, welcome to my post on the HOT SUMMER HEROES BLOG HOP. I’m giving away three copies of my debut paranormal romance IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES. It’s an international giveaway, so everyone is welcome to enter by simply leaving a comment.

What makes a hero hot? Not a really tough question is it? Everyone has their own ideas, their own type of hero they fall head over heels for, whether he’s between the pages of a book, on a TV or movie screen or walking by you on the street.

I always wonder if a writer’s criteria for what makes a hero hot is different than a reader’s. For me, if I don’t find him hot, I can’t write him. Doesn’t matter who he looks like, if he’s too cocky or arrogant, I tell my muse ‘next’ and keep going till I find someone I can work with.

Personally, I’m a sucker for a hero with great eyes and arms. If they have that, they’re in.

Before I write a book, I pretty much cast my hero. For my upcoming paranormal release, DARK INTENT, Ryder is pretty much modeled lookswise on Criss Angel (circa 2007). He’s morphed a little in my head over time, but he’s got the right build, the right hair and that cocky, self assured attitude that define’s Ryder. (That comes through the first time he officially meets Arabella and tells her straight out “I don’t do demons.” Well, Arabella is one, so you can imagine how well that meeting goes after that.)

Then I found a picture in a magazine of Jonathan Rhys Meyers with the sword. I’ve only ever seen a handful of episodes of the Tudors, but that pic on it’s own, gave Ryder a bit more life too. Although I may use him as more of a template for the hero in the next book in the series.

What makes a hero hot for you? Is there a certain trait that you fall for every time or is it something you just can’t explain? πŸ™‚

  4. The heart of a man defines who he is. A woman can catch glimpses of his heart by the way he treats her. Unconditional love, protector, giver, a man who can take care of his family and works hard but still can play. It doesn’t hurt if he’s hot looking though. sonsethues yahoo dot com
